On a glitch website called MOSH, I created three gifs using various effects. I wanted to create a moving gif, but using a still image. I experimented with various adding effects on top my image so that the photograph would firstly have a moving element, and secondly look differently to what it did before. For my first GIF I added a small wobble effect and reflected my image. To create a clear sense of movement I added the bad TV effect to make the image continuously move upwards. My second GIF is the simplest out of the three, I only added scan lines to it to which added moving noise to the photograph. Lastly for my final GIF I started off my reflecting my photograph. I then changed the RGB Shift which created a moving rainbow effect on top of my subject. I finally added the wobble effect on top of that to create the final result.

For my final piece I aim to re-create my own version of Beauty in Motion. However as I re-watched Erwin Blumenfeld's video I noticed that it is very dated, and quite old - fashioned. The clothing, settings and models are not current, as they reflect the style of the time the video was made in. Consequently, in my version the setting, music and clothing will all be current and fit todays trends. The music I have chosen to put on top of my video is Girl by The Internet. However also my film will highlight how the idea of beauty has also been altered and has expanded over time. Now people can find beauty in so many places and people. In the 70's the idea of beauty was quite narrow, and people could not appreciate all forms of beauty. Although there is still conflict, especially in the media, about what is deemed as beautiful, the ideas of beauty have definitely expanded since the 70's. |
